@3EDITORIAL
=========
@1
I thought I`d try something interesting for the Editorial this month,
as well as satisfy all those question about would be AD&Ders.
Before I get into this though I suppose I should appeal for more RPG
and fantasy articles, you`ll notice that the articles in this issue
are very biased towards Sci-Fi. Hopefully some kind souls will
rectify that situation.
You`ll also notice that Disk B contains, among other things, Glyn
Cornfield`s Dr. Who Guide, in AmigaGuide format. I`d like to take
this opportunity to thank him for allowig me to distribute it on
MAG.E.
Anyway here goes. Don`t say you can`t get into AD&D after reading this.
(You probably can`t-but don`t say it anyway!)
Before you get into AD&D, first get into D&D. It is very easy to
learn. The best way to go about is to teach yourself, treat yourself
to the basic set and work your way through it. That`s the way I learnt
and it is the most useful way to learn.
Once you understand teach the game to some people who`ve never played
before, then if you make any mistakes it won`t matter. You`re all
beginners so you can all put in as much as you like.
When you think you know what you are doing look in RPG mags like
Dragon, for ideas, then just build from there.
A final note is to be careful when you play with people who *do*
know what they`re doing. I`ll let you into the two mistakes that took
me several years to spot:
1) I couldn`t pronounce Charisma right (I pronounced it CHAR RIS MA-with
empathasis on the RIS).
2) I was quite certain that Alignment was actually Aligment, reading,
writing and saying it like that.
Just go on and try it. See what you think.
Until next issue.
